Growing With Cedar Falls, Plainfield and Waverly
A lot has changed in the world of banking since 1864, when First National Bank (FNB) started doing business in Waverly, IA. We are proud to be the oldest bank in Northeast Iowa and the third oldest bank in Iowa.
What makes us different and how has First National Bank been able to avoid all of the mergers and name changes that you see in the business world today? We believe it comes down to five reasons:
- FNB is owned through First of Waverly Corporation (FWC), a community and employee owned financial services holding company. FWC has over 375 community shareholders, including the 98 employees that work for FNB and our sister company, First Insurance Services.
- FNB has been willing to lead market changes in banking services to meet the changing needs of the community and our customers. We work hard to anticipate the long-term needs of our communities and customers.
- FNB has always been willing to invest in the communities we serve and our customers. We do this through our complete menu of lending products, staff time and financial contributions to community organizations and projects and by providing modern and convenient banking facilities, Internet banking and bill paying services and other new technologies.
- FNB has developed into a financial services company. We offer a complete menu of banking, investment, trust and investment management product and services.
- FNB has a committed group of dedicated and innovative employees and directors that are also owners, giving all of us a vested interest in our customer’s success.
First National staff members are active volunteers with quality of life events. We have a very experienced group of lenders who are here to meet our customer’s needs for home loans, agricultural and business loans and any kind of consumer credit needs.
